Who Am I?

Who am I?
I am a man.
I am a man; a white man.
I feel, deep within me, there is a man of no color;
With one heritage common with all of Man,
And the universe.
We are all One.
There is shame within me.
I do penance according to the demands of my heart.
I listen.
I hear.
The compassion within my heart demands that I give.
I give as I can.
I do not feel guilt if it is not enough.
It is never enough.
I want to show love; to demonstrate honor.
I am intent on love.
The most difficult person for me to forgive is me.
The past is here with me.
I remember and want to make things better.
The past cannot change.
I will remember the past and from it I will see what is right and what is wrong.
Each day is a new day.
Each day is a new opportunity to demonstrate that we are One in the Spirit;
That love is the bond.
