The Dolphin

The dolphin, Sleek and Supple
Beautiful creature of the ocean
Glimmering intelligence shines behind its eyes
Its swimming; Art in motion

A graceful creature is she
A gentle, playful mammal
With a subtle sense of purpose
Hard to believe truly an animal

And perhaps more than instinct
Does this majestic creature possess
Allowing for humans to be close
Smooth gray skin under the fingers that caress

A radiant woman enters my life
This lady from a foreign land
Like the dolphin her beauty unrivaled
Forever in my memory will she stand

Her soul she has shown me
The tranquil beauty unveiled
The inner turmoil covered by
The smile that never fails

So swim my beautiful dolphin
Through crystal waters uncharted
A friendship to last forever
That has only now just started

Dedicated to my Sunshine, who's smile enriches us all.
