Inside, by Shawna Holman
I only find it when I'm
carefully tucked inside
myself.
It's a special thing
that I have--
I wonder if anyone else
knows this wonderful
thing.
It's so peaceful--
this feeling I have
inside me.
People say I've turned hippy--
Sometimes I don't care--
Sometimes it bothers me--
a lot.
I feel like the "Blood-Thirsty Peacemaker"--
I read about it once.
I can really want to reach out--
sometimes.
And others--
I'm a loner--
lost in a world--
specialness.
Love, so tender--
Hate, so vicious--
"Tear it all to shreds!"
My cry is only heard by one--
me.
I may never know--
if anyone else knows of
this wonderful thing.
It's so special--
this feeling I have
inside me.
